Happy sum-sum-summertime, one and all yall!
I hope you are all enjoying the expansive, sprawling nature of this season. Here down in the caklickitylak, a deluge of rain left things victoriously verdant and cool, but now we have turned a corner and the summer that I had prepped for, has unmistakably arrived. O sweet southern inferno. I figure there is no way around this bloody mess, this heat beyond heats, except straight dab through the bulls-eye middle. And so, I have put together a series of my absolute favorites so we can just dive right in and enjoy. Chapel Hillbillyans, let's get our sweat on!
Dearest Everyone,
As the green scrambles to the surface and chlorophyll churns up energy out of light, i wish you all, similar moments of SUCH magical proportions.
If you are in the Chapel Hill area, i would love to see you for class at Triangle Yoga (where you can track the trees expanding and watch spring-time clouds saunter by, overhead), and if you are elsewhere, stay tuned for a follow-up email with workshops that may very well be in your area.
Dearest Ladies and Gents,
I cant believe it's time to scramble back up north again, but nothing could make me more pleased. I wanted to send y'all the schedule of classes so you can mark your calendars, and wherever it works for you, i hope i get to see ya! The schedule will also be up for your viewing convenience and pleasure at formayoga.com...

Ahhh.. these last languid lazy days of summer are slowly coming to a close and rolling right into the energy of back to school. I have to confess- the inner dork in me (which makes up the greater percentage of my innard divisions- if not all), is positively in LUV with the feeling- Penn's campus is all abuzz, the kids in the neighborhood are going out for school supplies and donning their backpacks with eager gusto - ok, quite possible that the latter is sprinkled with a little envious projection... but... you know what i mean.. It is hard not to get swept up in the energy of learning. And why resist?? Bring it on, i say!! So beautiful the turning of the seasons and allllll that they carry with them. And it is not only the electric energy of ignited craniums that gets me going.. it is also the little details hinted at in nature as transition approaches.. like the most well-kept secret that you have suddenly become privy to.. bit by bit, little by little, this glorious unfolding. Sneaky- like a child making out with a cookie from the cooling rack- she stealthfully shape-shifts before our very eyes. I am endlessly intrigued by all of the details of this holy transfiguration. I hope you too, are enjoying the show.
Hey there yall!
It's been too too long..
How wonderful it feels just to say hi.
I wanted to drop a quick note of howdy's- to let you know i am back in the stack, and to say that I have MISSED yall- in whatever capacity it is that we connect.
I am transitioning, slowly but surely, in the blue ridge mountains of North Carolina and enjoying the spaciousness of summer down here. The steady flow of memories that are swirling through after what was an incredibly charmed trip, to say the very least, renders me speechless. India was.... well, perhaps, i will tell you with a dance...

A little more on both these fronts...
I am exited to share with you my dance-a-day project in India:

Many of you in class may be familiar with my fascination (ok- admitted- verge on obsession) with, the cutest of the cute- fiddlehead fern. And what’s not to love?-
One of nature’s most hypnotically stunning architectures, the spiral. The structure that supports the softly explosive uncoiling of life, from the base to the apex. And reaching further out from there into space. Extending inwards and outwards simultaneously- reflecting on its own nature AND extending beyond. An exploration and a craving for the unknown.

The undeniable murmurings of spring are percolating underfoot and and it all seems so very appropriately timed as we reach our halfway mark in the Ladies Luv Sessions. The seeds of wisdom we've been planting are germinating, sprouting, and provoking so much growth alongside the springtime emergence of new life, it seems. It has been quite a remarkable sensation. If you have been thinking of joining us, there is still time.. swing on through for one or both of our final sessions. It has been an incredible group of women diving into some powerful practices and standing with and for one another as we do so.
Happy winter, all.
What a time. I luv this season because I luv every last excuse to cuddle in and well, do just that, cuddle. Into myself, into a book, you name it. Winter is such a beautiful season for bringing that much needed balance to our hectic and busy lives. One of the best ways to truly learn this turning inward is to look to the stunning examples that surround us in the natural world- everything gathering inward so that rebirth and the explosive expansion of life might be possible. And just as nature makes herself sparse and simple in these moments, we too, can relinquish our outward sprawling expressions and instead look inward- towards our little wise bits that lay quietly inside.

Autumn is a rich time of transition: the weather changing from stormy to sun-streaming and back again, calling us to frolic ferociously in the bursting colors of fall foliage, and then sending us running inside with chilly ears and noses!
Perhaps it is time for you to carve out some space for yourself to unwind, recharge, let go, drop in, and allow life's little accumulated stressors to dissolve away. If that is in fact the case, come join me, to tuck ourselves away into Pendle Hill's beautiful retreat center and into the magnificent beauty that is fall. There's nothing like a little time-out to take us deeper in our practice, to allow our overall well-being to thrive, and to bring us back to our lives renewed, rejuved and rejuiced!

This here mornin finds me cuddled up with a steamy cup of goat milk chai (!!) watching the Coloradan sun, slow and steady, spill into the valley. Life just doesn't get much sweeter. Granted, i am often chock-full to the brim of superlatives, but..... this really is good stuff. I hope that you are all finding little moments of sweetness around you.
And on the subject of sweetness..

Greetings friends.
Over this past weekend, I found myself beside a lazy river in North Carolina, and as I lay there with the earth under my back and the sky above, it struck me profoundly that I could not think of anything more powerful than the changing of the seasons. I mean, really. What a stupendous miracle of grander than grand proportions. Throughout the ages, there have been scores of rituals and ceremonies around this particular time of year- to celebrate the abundant bounty of the earth, to rest in waves of gratitude, and to take the time to mindfully transition from the seasons of action into those of rest and surrender. In these busy modern times of doing and consuming, it can often be easy to forget about our most sacred connection to the natural rhythms of the earth, and so, it is increasingly important to take time to listen deeply. To connect to that which is alive and that which is dying. And to align ourselves with that greater force. For me, fall has always seemed to possess access to mysterious wisdom. By way of looking to the earth, we connect deeper to our own hearts, and from our hearts, to the earth. So let us drop out, drop in, and savor. Fall, painted in all of her brilliant colors and star-filled nights, makes it awfully darn easy to do so.
