As the Fiddlehead Unfurls
...Last Sunday, on a hike with some dear friends, I caught a glimpse of these majestic little creatures peaking out of the earth and readying themselves for the explosion of their lifetime.. Quite literally.
Many of you in class may be familiar with my fascination (ok- admitted- verge on obsession) with, the cutest of the cute- fiddlehead fern. And what’s not to love?-
One of nature’s most hypnotically stunning architectures, the spiral. The structure that supports the softly explosive uncoiling of life, from the base to the apex. And reaching further out from there into space. Extending inwards and outwards simultaneously- reflecting on its own nature AND extending beyond. An exploration and a craving for the unknown.
As I crouched down to watch these little green spirals clustered at the base of a curious tree, I could not help but feel a little overwhelmed with the inherent power of what it was holding. Of what was about to be.. future frond beckoning... beauteous circinate vernation. Such is the power of spring. Onwards, upwards and outwards my friends!
I would love to invite you all on a few explorations of our own this season...
YOGA Workshop and Integrative Health Conference- Sunday April 22, 6-8pm
Come join for what is certain to be a fun and informative evening.. and all for a wonderful cause. After going through a path of healing when her mother was diagnosed with Cancer, Drisana Davis was inspired to fill in some of the gaps in our health care system, by creating a website to help foster, inform, and support an integrative approach to healing. We will start with a lil round robin yoga class, passing the baton between 6 yoga teachers from the philly area, followed by a panel discussion and a chance for mingles and munchies.

A Journey into Journaling- Sunday April 28, 11am-2pm
If there’s one thing I love more than fiddlehead ferns, it’s books.... hmmm… wellll… that’s tough… I will let my inner lovers duke it out on their own time. Suffice it to say that they are both right up there with swimming holes. Which is pretty durn high.
Bella Forte’s bombshell, Bridgett Morris and I are teaming up to to MAKE our own journals and explore this form of writing as a practice of finding our wisest voice. Journaling has been a cornerstone of my personal practice for many many years which is also the case for several of my heroes in this life. If you are unfamiliar with the work of Bella Forte, you positively MUST check them out (bellafortebooks.com).

Telluride Yoga Festival- July 12-15
Tucked in the valley of colorado’s brilliant mountains, and at the height of wildflower season, this town and festival can catapult consciousness into allll the right places. I’ll be dancing again at the fest and would LOVE to see you there! In its fifth year and running- I’m convinced this is one of the best festivals the yoga circuit has to offer. With a firm footing in environmental consciousness, these gals have put together something truly special- hosting many of the worlds most inspiring yoga masters and practitioners. And if you don’t get it from the teachings (which, you will), head out to the MASSive waterfall at the end of town for a mega-dose of negative ions. Wo baby. That’s all I gots to say about that.

And if you have a spare sec, i highly recommend finding yourself a little fiddlehead- and as it’s directional intent so humbly suggests, it might just be one of the best ways to get a little taste of infinity. And that, my friends, is well worth a ponder.
Happy springin....
