*Harvest Farm Yoga Retreat-

I would love to invite you to another season at Inverbrook Farm. It is always fun, not to mention wise, to learn at every season, the way of the land- and most especially, as it relates to the growth of the food that we eat. Connecting to a wider consciousness of and through our land and nourishment are some of the most upliftingly grounded practices i know.

For this day-long retreat, we will head out to the farm, help them in whatever way we can, take a long walk in the hills with the trees ablaze, head back for an exhilarating yoga practice and then, make a meal together of locally sourced organic nuggets! Community, Earth, Food.... it doesnt get much better than that!!

Women's Work~~~

*Dancing with the Divine Feminine-

Throughout the ages, women have gathered together to support each other and bring healing to themselves and the world around them. This act of gathering continues to be as healing and nourishing as it is joyful. In this workshop we will come together to celebrate all that is feminine through artful, creative vinyasa, inspiring music, meditation, and the interconnectedness that exists when we practice together mindfully. We will come to know and embody our inherent wisdom, each woman in her own way, and in the process, bring the awakening feminine more fully into our world.

Encompassed in sacred ritual, this workshop is celebratory and experiential in it's approach to the feminine spirit.

*Women's Wisdom and Seasonal Alignment-

Along side the brilliance that the modern age brings forth, is another side that deserves our mindfulness- and that is that it can often be easy to disconnect from both our inner life and the natural world. This disconnect can lead to confusion and even illness.

When we begin to listen in and move with the rhythms of nature, the mind becomes more lucid and peaceful, and the overall health improves. Seasons are our planet's way of marking time and of engaging in this most beautiful cycle of life. Each season has its own set of wisdom and information. And as women, it is important for us to practice- with food, herbs, breath, movement, creativity, relationships- to remember our primordial healing energy- to gather and re-ignite our commitment to heal ourselves and the world around us. Even in our busy, hectic lives, there are things we can incorporate that will align our inner life and daily habits with the cycles of the universe. Weaving together lecture, practice, restorative yoga and silence, we will learn ways of coming back to that intelligent alignment that is our birthright and nourish that sense of a sacred life.

As for me.. things are movin right along.. It has been nice to take on a lil of that molasses way- slow n steady n thick as they come. Especially as we turn towards the cooler months. There have been outings to see some really good theater- 'Red' to be exact (put on by the Playmakers Theater and about painter Mark Rothko- the Russian-American abstract expressionist- although he would reject that title), hikes along the viaduct (a beautiful bridge which seems suspended in midair as it hugs the southern face of Grandfather Mountain), a pun championship (yup, that's right. heaven is what that is), LOADS of scrabble with Granny, and even more time for practice. Times of transition can easily spin us out without that grounding ritual- but i'll tell you alllll about that when i see ya......

I look forward to finding our own little ceremonies to frame this beautiful season that is all about transition..

In LUV and affection,

Julia
