~for the ferocious and the artfully ill-mannered..
..as well as the soft, the kind, and the creatively caring….
Hi dear friends.
We are deep in the heart of women’s history month and i feel so moved by the feminine spirit these last few weeks. I know many of y’all aren’t on social media so i put a link below with some footage of a collaboration done here in San Miguel, with artist Ana Raga for International Women’s Day (check out her art- this woman is spinning lots of beautywebs out there!). It was an evening filled with the sorts of stories that both break and mend a heart, movement, music, art, and dance. A video is being created that will be up on my website in the next month or so. I’ll letcha kno, but until then, you can see some snippets at the links below.
And following along the thread that is woman..
I was talking with a friend the other day about the phenomenon that is the Virgin de Guadalupe. I’m not one to adhere vast powers to entities other than momma nature and the miracle that is the human brain, but this gal’s got somethin… i can’t quite explain it. Maybe it’s that her image is everywhere- as if she were hiding out in every unsuspecting corner to keep an eye out for and upon you, or maybe it’s that she has all the attributes of the virgin Mary but laid on top of everything of the Aztec goddess Tonantzin, or maybe it’s just that i was primed for needing a little extra holding in something softer than the known world was contributing… who knows. But in these shoes, it’s been powerful.
Tonantzin is a Nahuatl (an Aztec language) word which means “our sacred mother” and symbolizes the goddess of fertility and earth and often spoken of as the mother of the gods- that’s some mac-momma stuff- it doesn’t get much higher up the chain than that. And so, the Virgin de Guadalupe is a beautiful symbol of not only creation itself, but also of the melting pot of a people and a culture, so gently unfazed by conquest and holding true to their ancient roots. Their reverence of this woman feels like it’s carried on the whisper of a quiet rebellion that I find simply breathtaking. Both a rebellion, and the ease of deep acceptance of what is, simultaneously. She, and they, are teaching me much.
~ Speaking of the force-fields of the feminine, I have been getting a lot of questions about the upcoming EarthBound Broads program, and so i have decided to extend early pricing through the weekend so that i can make myself available to answer any further questions.
: : : If you are considering joining and would like to hear more, email me with any questions or to schedule a 15 minute call- I’d love to connect.
This program is an opportunity for me to really share with you the things i am most passionate about and frankly- not to be dramatic, but- some of which felt like they saved my life.
And just as the Virgin seems to extend some sort of field that is palpable but unexplainable, the circling up of women creates so much power and momentum, i bow to those spaces humbly and let them weave that magic like they do.
If you want to experience a group of women and a set of practices that help you land deeper in yourself, listen to whats wanting to be born in you, align with what is so central to your heart, and then powerfully move out in to the world with and from those spaces… we would love to have you join us.
Email to schedule a call, inquire, or to sign up.
