~this coming saturday and the eloquence of silence

2 tings.....

This Saturday is our last Homegrown Yoga Boulder event!

When I went out to meet with the folks at Black Cat Farm earlier this summer, I was blown away with the intricate farming practices that they employ. Certified organic and certified biodynamic on 425 acres of sprawling farmland with mountain vistas, is a pretty picturesque way to till the soil.

But these guys 'n gals do it all. Black Cat Farm has an impeccable fine dining experience in downtown Boulder (whose menu changes daily depending on season and what's been plucked straight outta mommaearth), a CSA program, farmers market stand, pub, tend 250 heirloom and heritage cultivars, and have a system of farm and grazing rotation that I couldn't begin to fully understand, much less tell you about- so I'll let them..

Suffice it to say, there is much to know and love.

~Come join Aleah, Dominick, and myself as we set music to breath to movement to farm-fresh air, and sow the seeds of admiration and appreciation yet again~

this  Saturday, Sept 14th, 9.30-11am

IMPORTANT note- there are many entry points to the farm.. here is the updated address:

9889 N 51st St, Longmont Co 80503**

**please try and carpool! parking is scarce and more importantly, lets follow their lead and live sustainably when and wherever possible- plus car singing is way more fun when you can do rounds :)

These events have been heart-warming and beautiful to say the very least- thanks to all who have come out.

And on the topic of unearthing..........

COMMUNITY MORNING PRACTICE

We are adding to the yoga offerings out at Eldorado Springs Art Center, 2 mornings of community practice and observance of the still, the silent, and the unspoken, Tues and Thurs from 7-9am.

Acoustic ecologist, Gordon Hempton, defines silence not as an absence but a presence, and "an endangered species that we must preserve".

Not only is quietude well worth our cultivation and curiosity, but there is an unspoken, undefinable, and indefatigable momentum to the collective silent-seeking.

and so.....

We hold firmly,

a safe space where all people, all paths, all creations are welcome and respected~

This is a time to be in practice together, nondenominationally, non-dogmatically; to allow the silence to express itself inside of you in whatever way it will (yoga, meditation, reading, writing, painting, sculpting, studying, resting, arts and crafts (bring your own supplies), or whatever you feel called to engage/disengage, find/let go of, foster/disintegrate....)

You might just notice how tuning in to the sounds of the creek, the wind, and the canyon itself, tune you in to the silentsound of the interior.

SOME PARAMETERS:

- feel free to arrive and leave any time within the 7-9am timeframe

- please enter and exit the premises in noble silence

- please leave your shoes at the door

- you are invited to leave a donation in the jar so that we can continue to offer this service

- you are invited ro read/reread the "guideposts" which will be printed and available

- please avoid exuberant greetings and waves- a gentle bow can be nice, but we would like to avoid distracting from our collective intention of leaning in to silence

- please feel free to come in and help yourself to some tea from the kitchen

- if you are using computers, etc, for writing, please make sure that everything is on airplane mode

- there will be a bell at 8.50 to allow you to wrap up whatever it is you are doing, and then a closing bell at 9am- please be ready to leave no later than 9, as we have other programs that need to be prepared for

- please make suer that any telephones are turned off or completely silenced, or better yet, left in the car :)

- please enjoy the inspiration and grounding and togetherness that is abundant at Eldorado Springs Art Center

"Close the door of words that the window of your heart may open. To see what can not be seen, turn your eyes inward and listen, in silence"
