Good day beloved love buckets.
Cosmic velcro, goosebump gobbledeegooop, warm pancake vortex, feral fox devotion, nebula cuddle, whale song slippers… however it is that you experience this wild thing of lava love, let’s talk.
Yesterday I took an uber into town and there was a notebook tucked into the back pocket of the passenger seat (pic below) that had the translations of all kinds of yummy love words and at the bottom read “stages of love.” It brought a big big smile. And how true.. It does come is stages.
Whatever interstellar expression you’ve touched upon in this lifetime, it is worth its weight in gold but it is not always an easy peasy walk down butter lane. But that little spark of something seemingly otherworldly is a little nudge to remember all the way back and all the way forward and actually know the truth of what is far from “out there” but rather the fabric of this here bodybone bouquet. And the very thing that has the power to transform. SO in addition to all the important ways of revolution, and protest, and building your beautiful world, don’t forget the one that’s right under your nose- namely your H E A R T. And yes, boundaries, capacity, titration are all part of the artistry, but have any of those become an excuse to shut it down in some small or large way? Are you ready to get curious enough about your own plight and therefore take flight?
So…. about that butter lane biz… once we’ve tapped into the purity of the elixir, we had best buckle up cuz she’s gonna shake out all that is not that. And, as many of us can attest, that can be painful as poo! It is so easy in the face of the truth of love to point the proverbial and literal finger and do anything in our power to keep us from looking deeper and deeper within. But when we begin to master the toggle that is the sweetness of love with the shadow exposure - drip by god-lovin droplet, we are in for something big, my friends… namely the birth of the world and the love that is beyond our wildest dreams and that has always been here patiently awaiting our arrival (incidentally, the outer may change of its own accord without a single protest if the investigation is robust- maybe not tomorrow, but with time).
But getting through the sludge to get there is not the easiest task - probably the most difficult journey this life presents and certainly not for everyone- i’m not speaking about the love that is just for this person or this part of life, (or that part of that person), but the one that turns you inside out with feverish delight and utter and complete transfiguration. So as you take to the streets, or whatever it is that you do, remember the force field of a heart that doesn’t stop and always knows, when we get out of our head enough to listen.
As always, what is the practical? how do we actually do this? Well, for me (we all have our own unique breadcrumb path but some things are frequently helpful), working with the layers of time and trouble that have built up in a body so that they can come home or shed through yoga and breath work- this has been HUGE. Also nature. She has all the wisdom a gal could ever want. Also community. And when we combine the three….. ! Watch out, is all I gotta say ‘bout that.
Today I want to remind you of your galactic gorgeousness and to also remind you that we have two classes a week to dance with the layers of time and remember our magical make-up as well as weave the raw fibers of the body through the spindle of the practice to create something as riveting, refulgent, and with as much potentiality as a spool of yarn.
One of my favorite acts of l u v is the dance inside my skin that is yoga. It is here for you twice a week, easy as pie (with loads of butter), every week should you want to join our army of care. We’ll ferociously hurl cuddles and detonate bone hugs from ourselves to ourselves time and time and time again.
If you need a place to remember your nature. To unravel samskara and neuropathways laid in concrete, come jostle that shite freeeeee with meeeeeee. And lay bare these bones, that we might write that new anthem. The one of heart resonance and butterfly tickles (the monarchs are still aflutter down here in mx).
It is no small thing to listen to what is here and what wants to be- not irregardless of ego and trauma and personality, but with all the things- all of the parts swimming swirling and falling madly in love with each other. It is no small thing. The impact of these pond ripples is gargantuan but that’s not the why. The why is because it feels so right. As right as spring. As right as the season that thaws and cracks open a planet with wild unbridled l o v e . Come practice with me?
We’d love to welcome you. To your mat. To your bones. To your you- the one you didn’t even know was there but was always whispering I and love and you (hat tip, Avett bro’s :)).
Maybe, on some level, what we are seeing ‘out there’ is the hard and fast truth of deep deep love, right now in the world. Things are being exposed and expunged with a quickness.
So do the thing. Get out there and do it. Drop so far in, you come out on the other side. Love so hard you cant even stand it. Whether it’s a person, an animal, a passion hobby, and always always your sweet miraculous bodybones. Kindle that flame, light that fire, let it spread and grow wild and free. This love thing is also a practice. It’s the one thing that moves both forward and back, under and through. It is a remembrance of what you are and what you always have been as well as a muscle to do reps upon - to grow and expand in the quiet confines of your home, in the raucous rattle of the collective, to place upon the ancient and modern alter, to lay our souls bare before, to coo like a loon in the middle of the night… until this indefatigable bounty called l o v e has enough outward (and corresponding inward) momentum to engulf us all. Fun? Scary? yes, all of that. At the heart of it, we are actually terrified of the largest love. But it is the way. So hop on. Get in the warm pancake puddle. She’s here for you.

Friends and practitioners after taking class online:
Julia, Thank you! I took time and space to practice with you (out of synchronized time and space) yesterday. What a gift -- your masterful understanding of the body and its workings and the continuum from inner to outer is rare.

Oh my gosh, Julia, you are a really beautiful beautiful being and teacher and guide. You just hold the space so beautifully even on Zoom, of course, in person even better, but I cried. I just.. my body responded so well to the way that you speak to the cellular level of who I am. So I love you as a friend, always, soul sister, but wow, you're just genius. You're a gem and what we need right now in society to hold us together and gather and guide us. So anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you.
