Every month a different yoga teacher form the community will be leading us through our practice.
December: Maryline Roux
I was born in Ivory Coast, Africa and grew up in France (25 years). I received my first Yoga certification (Vinyasa) in 2005, with Stephanie Keach, from Asheville. I taught for approximately 12 years in North Carolina in my Home studio ‘’ La Vie Yoga’’ and 2 years in Catalunya where I had the opportunity to learn essential techniques from two great teachers at la Sala De Ioga in San Cugat.
Back in the USA, I could not find Yoga classes that could fulfilled what I was looking for at the time; so I started to read about BKS Iyengar and followed his teachings and courses for couple years and continue to teach in my Home studio. During my search for a new home in Colorado in December last year I discovered KAiut Yoga and felt in love with the method. In April this year I went to the first training, The Concept with Francisco KAiut in Telluride and in June I traveled to Amsterdam for the second training, The Teacher Side. I completed KM200 hours and I am looking forward for the third training, The Edge. Since childhood I’ve always been connected to Nature and practicing KAiut Yoga simply took me back to the roots- it has been like finding that special edge that makes you complete. KAiut Yoga is a simple method and is for everyone. Practicing it a minimum of 2 to 3 times a week will improve greatly the mobility in your joints and detox your body from impurities accumulated over the year. With time you will succeed in reaching layers within the 3 girdles : hips, shoulders and ankles and free up old restrictions. I have heard and watched so many healing stories in my trainings as a result of KAiut Yoga practice. I have experienced an incredible physical and mental transformation since I started KAiut Yoga 6 months ago and I heartily hope that my Teaching will help the Soul Tree Yoga Studio’s students to rediscover the Depths of their bodies.
Of the mat, I am a Track&Field athlete competing Nationally and Internationally in the Masters category. I also draw, paint and in the process of publishing my first book. Moving to Colorado has been a Blessing as I love the Mountains’ Spirit. Skiing, hiking, mountain biking brings me each time closer to this Eternal Beauty.
