Katonah Yoga is a syncretic yoga practice that blends classical Hatha Yoga with Taoist theory, sacred geometry, pranayama, and metaphor to form a practical framework designed to potentiate both personal and communal well-being. The practice is organized around three principles of esoteric dialogue: all polarities are mediated by trinity; the universe has pattern, pattern implies intelligence; by virtue of repetition there is potential for insight.
The workshop will explore the introductory concepts and methods of Katonah Yoga, namely using asana as origami for the body, manipulating form for a specific function, and developing a sense of personal measure. Each of these are easily adaptable and can integrate seamlessly to augment any style of yoga practice. Students will walk away empowered with a set of tools that will enable a more refined, sophisticated, and meaningful home practice.
